Islington residents young and old enjoyed sun and fun at Girdlestone Park’s “Love Your Park Community Picnic” on Saturday (Aug 6).

The event - organised by Islington Council with Girdlestone Tenants' and Residents' Association as part of Love Islington Parks 2016 – included face-painting, drumming and games.

Cllr Claudia Webbe, Islington Council’s executive member for environment, said: “Islington’s parks and open spaces make a huge difference to residents’ quality of life, and it’s fantastic to see local residents enjoying this picnic in Girdlestone Park.”

Love Islington Parks 2016 events are taking place in parks and green spaces across the borough throughout August.  For more see LIPS2016.eventbrite.com
