A helping hand with summer childcare

Working parents will get a helping hand with childcare this summer, thanks to Islington Council’s Family Information Service (FIS). The service can offer advice to mums, dads and carers who are looking for ways to keep their children healthy, happy and safe during the school break.

Childcare options in Islington include playschemes – many of which are open extended hours and offer breakfast and tea-time clubs – and registered childminders.

Parents can call the helpline number or download a leaflet to see what is available.

Islington Council's executive member for children and families, Cllr Joe Caluori, said:
“It can be difficult to arrange childcare over the long summer holidays, but luckily there is a range of options available here in Islington.

“The Family Information Service has a full list of suitable playschemes and childminders, so there is plenty to keep children and young people safe and busy this summer.”

To find out more call the FIS helpline on 020 7527 5959 or see www.islington.gov.uk/fis/holidaychildcare.
