Chief Executive responds to terrorist attack in Golders Green
In a statement, Victoria Lawson, Chief Executive of Islington Council, has condemned today’s terrorist attack in Golders Green, in which two Jewish men were seriously injured.
“We’re truly stunned and saddened by the horrific attack in Golders Green earlier today (Wednesday, 29 April). Our thoughts are with the two victims, as well as their families, friends, and loved ones, and the wider Jewish community.
“This was a senseless act of violence, which will have caused shock and fear to many. We’re working closely with our local partners to reassure our local Jewish communities, and are liaising with police to provide reassurance to residents.
“Islington always has been, and always be, a place where tolerance always triumphs over hate. Today’s attack highlights the vital importance of our borough’s work to create a safe, inclusive Islington where everyone can freely practice their faith without fear.”
