Council Leader's statement: Tony Eastlake

Leader of Islington Council, Cllr Kaya Comer-Schwartz, said: “Tony was popular in the community, loved by his family and was a familiar face to many as the friendly florist beside Essex Road station for nearly 40 years.

“We are appalled and devastated by his tragic murder, and our heartfelt thoughts and condolences are with his family and friends at this difficult time.

“We urge anyone who saw anything, or has information about this terrible crime, to contact the Metropolitan Police, by calling 101 quoting reference CAD 5562/29May, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 to help the investigation.”
