Double murder investigation – council Leader’s statement

Cllr Kaya Comer-Schwartz, Leader of Islington Council, said: “I’m shocked and saddened following the fatal stabbings of a man and a boy in Islington last night.  

“My thoughts and condolences, and those of Islington, are with their families and friends at this extremely distressing time.  

“We’re working with the police, who have launched a murder investigation. If you have any information that can help the investigation, it’s really important that you contact the police, or speak to the independent Crimestoppers line anonymously.” 

Police were called to Elthorne Road, N19, at approximately 11.33pm last night following reports of a stabbing.  

Despite the best efforts of all involved, a boy, believed to be aged 15, was pronounced dead on the scene. A man, aged 23, was taken to hospital, where he too was sadly pronounced dead. 

A third victim, believed to be aged 28, was also located at an address in N19. He had suffered a stab wound. He was taken to hospital, and his condition is not thought to be life threatening, the Metropolitan Police said.
