General Election - register to vote

There’s just over one month for Islington residents to register to vote in the General Election on 7 May.

Residents need to apply to be on the electoral roll by 20 April in order to vote and ensure their voice is heard.

Islington has more than 155,000 people eligible to vote - 10,000 more than last time the General Election took place in 2010, including many first time voters.

Being on the electoral register isn’t simply about being able to vote – it can help your credit rating too and make it easier to rent or buy a property or get things like a phone contract as credit reference agencies use the register to confirm an applicant’s address.

To register visit www.gov.uk/register-to-vote, call 020 7527 3110, or email electoral.services@islington.gov.uk.
