Islington Teen Read Vote 2015

Islington's teenage readers are being asked to vote for their favourite author to get the chance to win book tokens and books.

The Islington Teen Read offers young people the chance to say which new book made the biggest impact on their lives over the last year.

This year's shortlist comes from titles suggested by pupils in Islington’s schools.

Voting will take place in schools, libraries and at Waterstone’s bookshop on Islington Green, N1.

The novels are:

All the Truth That's in Me - Julia Berry
The Fallen - Charlie Higson
Russian Roulette - Anthony Horowitz
Black Friday - Robert Muchamore
Picture Me Gone - Meg Rosoff
Allegiant - Veronica Roth

Everyone aged 11-18 can take part in the vote - but they must choose their author by 13 February 2015.

The winning novel and prize draw winners will be announced by a surprise guest author at Waterstone’s, coinciding with World Book Day (Thursday 5 March).

Cllr Janet Burgess, Islington Council's executive member for health and wellbeing said:

"Our Teen Read Vote is bringing a sense of excitement to reading in Islington with free prizes and a surprise guest author.

"Getting the reading habit young is fun and can be the start of a lifetime of enjoyment."
The Islington Teen Read Vote is one part of the Islington Reads programme of events and activities designed to get Islington reading.
