London Bridge and Borough Market attack

Cllr Richard Watts, leader of Islington Council, said: "Our heartfelt condolences and thoughts are with the people killed, injured and affected by this cowardly attack, and their friends and families.

"We're once again hugely grateful to London's emergency services, whose bravery and professionalism saved lives, and who put their own lives on the line to help others.

"As with other other recent atrocities, this attack seeks to divide us, and sow hatred. This will never succeed - we will stand together, support each other, and continue. London is a great city with a huge heart, spirit and toughness and will never give in to cowards, bullies and hatemongers."

Residents are asked to stay calm but remain vigilant. If you see anything suspicious, no matter how insignificant you might think it is, please contact the anti-terrorism hotline on 0800 789 321.

An emergency number has been established for anyone who is concerned for loved ones. The Casualty Bureau number is 0800 0961 233.

A book of condolence for those killed, injured and affected by the attack is available to sign at Islington Town Hall in Upper Street.
