Islington Council’s Deputy Leader and executive member for health and wellbeing, Cllr Janet Burgess, said: “Making sure our potentially vulnerable older neighbours are warm and well is everyone’s business – all winter round, not just during the Christmas season.

 

“This scheme, and the volunteers who contribute to it, is a wonderful example of a community coming together to make sure our borough is a place where everybody – of all ages – can enjoy a good quality of life.   

 

“We’re very grateful to all the North London Cares volunteers who kindly give up their time to help check on our older neighbours and get involved in this superb scheme.”
