Statement - fatal shooting in Islington

Cllr Richard Watts, leader of Islington Council, said: "We are shocked and horrified at the fatal shooting of a young man in Islington this afternoon. Our thoughts are with his friends and family at this extremely distressing time.

"This tragedy will have a deep impact on many people, and we will do everything we can to support police as they investigate this crime and seek to bring reassurance and support to our community.

"We join the police in asking for anyone with information to please come forward and help find those responsible."
