Islamophobia Awareness Month - statement from Islington Council, Islington Faiths Forum and the Hate Crime Forum

We celebrate the unique achievements and contributions that our Muslim community members have made and continue to make in Islington and beyond, and stand in solidarity with them against Islamophobia and hate crimes.

Sadly, we continue to see a marked increase in Islamophobia, which we will not accept.  Muslim community members make enormous contributions to life in the UK and within Islington, from setting up food banks, feeding our homeless, and supporting our most vulnerable residents, to supporting vaccination drives and much more.

We will be holding an evening of celebration at Finsbury Park Mosque on Friday 26 November from 6 – 7.30PM, followed by a tour of the mosque.  

We warmly invite you to come along and join the celebrations. There will be guest speakers and refreshments, you can meet the local Imam, and have a chance to learn something new about the Islamic Faith and the warmth and generosity with which Muslim community members play a central role in the life of our borough. Book your space on Eventbrite.
