Statement - Highbury Corner Bridge replacement

Cllr Claudia Webbe, Islington Council’s executive member for environment and transport, said: “Transport for London has to carry out essential work to replace Highbury Corner Bridge, which is more than 150 years old.

“This bridge replacement work has been planned for some time, and TfL has consulted us about the work, and has previously publicised that a road closure over Christmas would be necessary.

“We will monitor the bridge replacement work, and continue to challenge TfL to keep disruption to a minimum.”
