Statement in response to incident in Isledon Road

A statement from Cllr Kaya Comer-Schwartz in response to an incident during an arrest in Isledon Road, N7.

Cllr Kaya Comer-Schwartz, Islington Council’s executive member for community safety, said: “I am deeply concerned by the incident on 16 July on Isledon Road. I appreciate that policing is often difficult, but any use of excessive force by police is unacceptable.

“To make sure everyone in our borough is kept safe, trust and engagement with our community must be earned. This incident must now be properly and independently investigated and robust and swift action taken as appropriate.”
