Statement on secondary school place preference offers

[starts]
Cllr Joe Caluori, executive member for children and young people, said: “We are pleased that almost three-quarters of all pupils moving up to secondary education in Islington have been offered places at their first choice of school – more than 4% above the London average.
“Our schools are popular and highly-valued, with more than nine out of 10 pupils being offered a place at one of their top three choices.
“Applications have gone up and we are extremely proud to say that every secondary school student attends a ‘good’ or ‘outstanding’ school, as judged by Ofsted – making our provision amongst the best in the country.
“We are also making plans for the future, managing increasing demand for our schools by creating more than 100 extra places by 2018.”
