Statement on the earthquake in Türkiye and Syria

We know this terrible event has been very deeply felt in Islington’s local Turkish, Kurdish, and Syrian communities. We’re working with local voluntary and community organisations on how we can best come together as a community to help people in need.  

If you’d like to show support and solidarity, you can support Islamic Relief, Save the Children, Oxfam, or the British Red Cross. Locally, you can donate via Finsbury Park Mosque’s fundraiser to help those in need in the area. 

The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office helpline is available for anyone who wants to know the whereabouts of loved ones in the area. You can contact them on 020 7008 5000. You can also contact the British Embassy in Türkiye on +90 312 455 3344.
