Statement - TRiFOCAL food waste pilot

Cllr Claudia Webbe, Islington Council’s executive member for environment and transport, said: "Food waste is a big issue for us all, and we are always looking for innovative ways of reducing it. We believe this pilot project offers a valuable new way to reach people.

"Educating residents and encouraging them to look at how they consume and manage their food is one of the best ways to reduce food waste.
"This should help to create a more sustainable environment, saving us from processing unnecessary waste.
"Residents who are more conscious of the food they throw away and take steps to reduce it will save themselves money too, so the benefits to everyone are clear."
