Test- Islington Council urges residents to make sure they are registered to vote ahead of General Election

The UK General Election takes place on Thursday, 8 June, and Islington Council is reminding residents that their vote counts.

If you want to vote in the General Election, you must be registered before the deadline of midnight on Monday, 22 May. You can register online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote.

If you are already registered to vote and haven’t moved home since, you do not need to re-register.

Registering to vote only takes five minutes, and you will need your National Insurance number. You can apply for a postal vote or proxy vote too.

Polling cards will be delivered to everyone who is registered to vote, with delivery in Islington starting on Friday, 5 May. Your polling card contains information on where your polling station is. Polling stations will be open between 7am and 10pm on 8 June.
