Cllr Angelo Weekes has become the new Executive Member for Community Safety for Islington Council. His appointment comes after Cllr John Woolf assumed the role of Executive Member for Homes and Neighbourhoods.

In his new role as Executive Member for Community Safety, Cllr Weekes will focus on tackling safety issues affecting the borough. He is determined to enhance community cohesion and ensure Islington is a place where everyone feels safe, secure and supported.

Speaking on his appointment, Cllr Weekes said: "Islington has always been my home, and I am honoured to step into this role to serve the community I care so deeply about. I am committed to working with residents, partners, councils who border us and council colleagues to make Islington a safer, cleaner, and more resilient borough for all. Nobody is safe until everyone feels safe"
