Islington Council, on Friday 8^th July, launched this year’s Summer Reading Challenge to encourage children aged 4-11 to enjoy reading during the school holidays.

It’s easier than ever for children, families and over-60s to enjoy the physical and mental health benefits of swimming this summer, with Islington Council and GLL offering hundreds of free lessons during the half-term and summer holidays

Islington Council has today (Friday, 25 March) held a special event at the newly-renovated Central Library, which includes a new hub for Tall Stories Theatre Company, who celebrate their 25th anniversary this year.

More than 4,700 children in Islington have benefited from free music lessons in the last three years – an achievement celebrated with dazzling performances from 20 young musicians, hosted by a home-grown rising star.

Islington Council has made a key appointment to help drive forward its ambitious work to create a more equal Islington and ensure that every young person in the borough has access to the opportunities they need to thrive in life.
