There’s less than a week to go before the deadline for Islington Greener Futures, and local people are being invited to play their part in creating a cleaner, greener, healthier borough by investing.   

Islington Council has launched an exciting new tool which calculates local people’s carbon footprints and advises them on the pledges they can make to help create a cleaner, greener, healthier future. 

Islington parents who have lost their children to knife crime attended Emirates Stadium yesterday to stand in solidarity with Arsenal’s No More Red campaign, alongside the leader and chief executive of Islington Council.

Ironmonger Row Baths swimming pool will reopen on Monday 24 January for all users - including school swimming and Better Swim School.

The council has closely studied monitoring data and listened carefully to feedback on the Canonbury East people-friendly streets neighbourhood, and will now introduce an exemption scheme for Blue Badge holders living in the neighbourhood.   

Following the fire on 6 January, GLL and Islington Council have been working closely together to reopen facilities at Ironmonger Row Baths as soon as it is safe to do so.

There is still time to nominate an unsung, local hero for the Mayor’s Civic Awards or the Ben Kinsella Award. These awards give well-deserved recognition to people who make Islington a better, more equal place.
